King Solomon Pencils Artist Biography






King Solomon Pencils is the best gifted visual artist artist located in west Africa, Ghana Eastern Region, Kwahu Mpreaso.  

Artist Statement

“I am fascinated by the simplicity of a pencil. It is one of the most basic of tools, and yet it can be used to create images of great complexity and depth. To take that which is simple and basic, and to create with it something moving and inspiring is a personally enriching experience. To me, this creative process is a reflection of life. We all possess very basic tools, and what can be created with these tools is incredibly complex, moving, and full of potential.”

 There are many animal artists around and it would not be fair to compare them but in King Solomon's Pencils we have something different. A professional artist now for over  five years, he often spends over fifteen hours on a single drawing.   Solomon's work is special in its fine detail. The only tool for this is the pencil. He doesn't like colour, he says colour gets in the way.


Solomon's art sells in many town including Accra, Kumasi and Central Region of Ghana. The work is stunning, make a point of looking out for his prints and original drawings. You will be impressed.

Artist Biography

King Solomon Pencils specializes in the beautiful and striking effect of black and white graphite pencil drawing. His detailed illustrations depicting a variety of themes have won many awards in prestigious juried art shows. In addition, his drawings have been widely published. 




Using a variety of pencils, King Solomon Pencils creates depth and movement through the use of perspective, rich tonality and a number of rendering techniques. he begins with research and photograph studies of his subject(s). Next, he explores various creative approaches with a series of rough sketches. These sketches are refined and ultimately lead to a final line-composition. Then, the final rendering begins. It can require 100 hours or more to complete a large pencil drawing.



Solomon's draws his inspiration from a life-long love of animals and nature. After years spent riding and showing horses in the discipline of dressage, Solomon's now enjoys the more leisurely time spent with his friend Kisskid.

Solomon owns and operates King Solomon Pencils, the company through which he publishes and sells his work. 

Solomon’s interests include reading, games, swimming, meditation and peaceful times with friends. His favorite blessing on this earth is quiet time spent in the presence of nature.
